REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

SARA focuses on the following issues in reproductive health:

• Developing policies and strategies for addressing the reproductive health needs of underserved populations including adolescents and males

• Exploring and disseminating models for integrating HIV/AIDS prevention and family planning activities and programs

• Developing, sharing, and advocating for effective approaches for improved policies and strategies for essential obstetric care and reducing maternal mortality

• Addressing emerging policy and health program issues such as postabortion care and encouraging evidence based dialogue on them

• Contributing to the policy dialogue surrounding reproductive health issues in Africa by working with the media

ACTIVITIES

SARA has continued to assist AFR/SD with its activities in the area related to reproductive health. SARA activities support the following AFR/SD intermediate results for improving provider performance:

• Improved policies and strategies to expand reproductive health programs promoted

• Enabling environment to design, implement, and evaluate reproductive health programs improved
